BBC Studios is seeking a Digital Subtitling Editor to create accurate subtitles for video content across digital brands. You will ensure readability, timing and brand consistency while upholding high editorial standards in a fast-paced environment.

Based in London, this part-time role (18 hours) offers the opportunity to contribute to a globally recognised media operation, developing editorial and digital production skills within a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Excellent proofreading and sub-editing skills.
• Outstanding attention to detail and editorial accuracy and consistency.
• Experience applying editorial standards, style guides or quality-control processes.
• Strong research and fact-checking skills, with the ability to verify information independently.
• Highly organised, able to manage competing priorities and work both independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Create and edit subtitle files for digital video content, ensuring accuracy and readability.
• Review and correct automated transcripts, checking spelling, grammar, punctuation and timing.
• Apply editorial and brand style guidelines consistently across channels and content types.
• Research and fact-check names, locations, terminology and references for editorial accuracy.
• Manage multiple subtitling requests efficiently, maintaining version control and meeting deadlines.
