Virgin Active in London seeks an experienced Pilates instructor to deliver 1:1 sessions, lead group classes and signature Pilates programs, and drive member wellbeing. You'll work within the Pilates product team, collaborating with managers and club teams to evolve the member experience, while maintaining high professional standards and safety.

• Comprehensive Pilates qualification covering all apparatus.
• Experience in a Comprehensive Pilates studio environment.
• DBS check and public liability insurance required.

Responsabilités

• Deliver personalised 1:1 Pilates sessions tailored to individual member goals.
• Lead small-equipment group Pilates classes that motivate and inspire members.
• Deliver Virgin Active signature Pilates group classes to a consistently high standard.
• Design progression programmes, identify movement limitations and apply corrective strategies.
• Build long-term relationships with members to support retention and engagement.
• Collaborate with Product Managers and club teams to enhance the Pilates experience.
• Take ownership of professional development and complete Virgin Active training.
• Support club commercial performance with PT penetration targets and 23+ sessions per week.

About the Role

The role focuses on delivering exceptional Pilates experiences that help members move better, feel stronger and achieve their individual wellness goals. It combines expert technical knowledge with outstanding coaching and member experience across personalised 1:1 sessions, small-equipment group sessions and signature Pilates classes. The position sits within the Product team and collaborates with Product Managers and club teams to continually enhance the Pilates experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver personalised 1:1 comprehensive Pilates sessions tailored to individual member goals, needs and abilities.
• Lead small-equipment group Pilates classes that motivate, challenge and inspire members.
• Deliver Virgin Active signature Pilates group classes to a consistently high standard.
• Design structured programmes that support progression, performance and long-term movement quality, and identify movement limitations to integrate appropriate corrective strategies.
• Build strong, long-term relationships with members, supporting retention, referrals and continued engagement.
• Translate complex Pilates and movement concepts into clear, engaging and accessible coaching.
• Uphold Virgin Active brand standards through professionalism, expertise and leadership on the gym floor.
• Collaborate with Product Managers and club teams to continually enhance the Pilates experience, and support newer instructors and team development where appropriate.
• Take ownership of professional development through internal and external learning opportunities, actively reviewing performance and embracing feedback.
• Complete all required Virgin Active training and actively advocate for the Social Wellness Club proposition.
• Support the club's commercial performance, working towards the 10% Personal Training penetration target and delivering a consistent 23+ sessions per week.

Required Experience & Qualifications

• A recognised Comprehensive Pilates qualification covering all apparatus.
• Experience working within a Comprehensive Pilates studio environment.
• A valid DBS check.
• Public liability insurance.
• A proven ability to coach clients safely and effectively to a high standard.
• Confidence working independently and managing your own schedule.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• The ability to work with members with different goals, abilities and learning styles.
• Strong organisational skills and confidence using booking systems and digital platforms.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and public holidays where required.
• The ability to handle member feedback and concerns professionally, positively and proactively.

Salary

• £45—£45 GBP
