Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment LTD. in Westminster, Central London, is partnering with a leading primary school to recruit a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) for a September 2026 start.

The role is full-time, on-site, with a salary of up to £145 per day (PAYE). You will support learning across key stages, deliver pre-planned lessons when required, and run targeted interventions, particularly for pupils with SEND and SEMH.

Qualifications

• HLTA status or substantial experience in UK primary schools.
• Strong SEND and SEMH support experience.
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
• Proactive, nurturing and resilient approach.

Responsibilities

• Delivering high-quality lessons in the absence of the class teacher.
• Supporting teaching and learning across EYFS, KS1 and KS2 as required.
• Delivering small group and one-to-one interventions.
• Supporting pupils with SEND and SEMH needs both inside and outside the classroom.
• Working closely with teachers, the SENCO and external professionals to implement individual support plans.
• Promoting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
• Helping to create an inclusive learning environment where every child can succeed.
