Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment LTD. is seeking an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant to support pupils with SEMH in a secondary setting. The role involves covering lessons, delivering targeted interventions, and running small groups to aid learning and personal development.

The successful HLTA will work closely with teachers and support staff to build positive relationships and provide consistent, calm support that helps pupils engage and progress throughout the school day.

Qualifications

• HLTA status or significant experience as a Teaching Assistant.
• Experience supporting pupils with SEMH, SEND, or challenging behaviour.
• Calm, resilient and positive approach.
• Ability to build strong relationships with young people.
• Confidence supporting learning and managing classroom environments.

Responsibilities

• Covering lessons to ensure continuity of learning.
• Delivering intervention programmes and small group activities.
• Supporting pupils with SEMH and behavioural needs.
• Building positive relationships and providing consistent support.
• Working closely with teaching staff and the wider support team.
