Sopwell House, a luxurious 5-star Georgian country house hotel in Hertfordshire, invites applications for the Conference & Banqueting Floor Manager role. This full-time position leads the C&B operations, ensuring flawless guest care and seamless service across all suites and events.

Applicants should bring proven management experience in hospitality, strong budgets/P&L know-how, and a proactive, team-driven leadership style. Evening/weekend availability and a passion for upselling are essential.

Qualifications

• Previous management experience within conference & banqueting or events in a hotel setting.
• Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets and P&L
• Confident leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team
• Excellent guest service skills and a proactive approach to upselling
• Good working knowledge of hotel operating systems
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and Duty Manager shifts as required

Responsibilities

• Manage the daily operation of the Conference & Banqueting suites, ensuring consistent presentation and guest care
• Ensure food & beverage is organised, served and set up correctly across all C&B areas
• Motivate and develop your team through positive communication, coaching and regular appraisals
• Liaise closely with the Head Chef to ensure accuracy of numbers and menus
• Support the introduction of sales promotions and encourage upselling at all times
• Prepare weekly timesheets, rotas and payroll information
• Organise inventories of operating equipment, minimising losses
• Be available to perform Duty Manager shifts as required
