Job summary

Aston Martin Aramco Formula One Team is seeking a skilled Machinist to join the Metallic Machine Shop at Silverstone. You will produce high-precision metallic components for a fast-paced motorsport environment, with emphasis on quality, delivery, and continuous improvement.

The role involves night shifts Monday to Thursday 17:00–03:30, with responsibilities spanning setup, machining, inspection support, and active collaboration across shifts.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience machining metallic components in high-precision environments.
• Ability to read GD&T and tight tolerance drawings.
• Experience with CNC (3-,4-,5-axis) milling/turning.
• Proficient with inspection tools (micrometers, CMM data, surface finish).
• Knowledge of work holding, fixturing and datum setting.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture accurate, high-quality metallic components to deadlines, deburred and to specification.
• Set up, operate, and adjust CNC and/or manual machine tools for complex parts.
• Ensure components meet dimensional, surface finish and performance requirements.
• Select tools, speeds and feeds for various metals.
• Identify and resolve machining issues promptly.
• Maintain ERP transactions, including job tracking and time booking.
• Support QA with first-off inspection and in-process checks.
• Communicate clearly between shifts and during reviews.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and skills development.
• Work during peak periods with flexibility and reliability.
• Uphold Health & Safety procedures and best practice.
