Job description

This role is available full-time for 37 hours per week or part-time with a minimum coverage of 28 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
Flexible or compressed working hours are available.
This role is based in the office.

As an engineer, you understand the importance of products working as designed and meeting customer needs. Imagine that your product is used by the UK government to help keep our country safe. Your role is crucial in this context.

You will engage with end users to understand their requirements, develop appropriate test solutions, conduct lab tests and real-world trials, and assure stakeholders that your products will perform when needed. You will detail test results, capture product behavior, and provide technical reports that are key to product deployment decisions.

You will work across technologies such as RF, cellular, GPS, and systems like tracking, audio, and video, at various lifecycle stages. You may need to lift heavy test equipment (up to 25kg), which is manageable with two people.

Your career development will be supported through coaching, mentoring, training courses, and accreditation.

More About You

To apply, you will already have:

  • An HND or equivalent experience in Electronics/Communications engineering or related field.
  • Experience in electronics testing and measurements.
  • Experience documenting test results and procedures.
  • A full UK driving license.

Beneficial but not essential, you may also have:

  • Experience in RF systems, cellular & wireless tech (5G, LTE, UMTS, GSM, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth), GPS, or audio/video tech.
  • Experience developing test plans or conducting user trials.
  • Experience in technical report writing.
  • Ability to guide, coach, or train less experienced engineers.
