Job summary

Orion Electrotech Manufacturing in Swindon is seeking an Electronics Technician to join our manufacturing team. The role focuses on assembling electronic and electromechanical products, including PCBs and wiring harnesses, following technical drawings and standards.

You will perform soldering and assembly with attention to quality in a collaborative environment, ensuring products meet production targets and quality criteria.

Location: Swindon
Job Type: Permanent
Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 DOE
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm

The Role

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Electronics Technician to join our manufacturing team. This position involves the assembly of electronic and electromechanical products, including PCB assemblies, wiring harnesses, and other bespoke electronic builds.

Working within a quality-focused environment, you'll use your assembly and soldering skills to produce high-quality products while following technical documentation and manufacturing standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Solder a variety of electronic components to a high standard
• Assemble PCBs, wiring harnesses, and electromechanical systems
• Carry out electronic and mechanical assembly work in line with build requirements
• Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and assembly instructions
• Ensure all products meet quality and production standards
• Support manufacturing activities within a collaborative team environment

Skills & Experience Essential

• Experience with electronic assembly and soldering techniques
• Comfortable with both manual assembly work and soldering equipment
• Ability to accurately read and follow technical drawings and production documentation
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Positive attitude with a proactive approach to problem-solving

Desirable

• Experience soldering to IPC or J-STD standards
• Previous experience within an electronics manufacturing environment
• Experience building PCBs, wiring harnesses, or electromechanical assemblies
