Job summary

Cattron Global is seeking an electronics technician to test faulty equipment, troubleshoot, repair and modify components at Cattron Group International facilities in the United Kingdom. Travel to customer sites may be required to support installations and field service.

Responsibilities include using test equipment and software to diagnose malfunctions, inspecting components for defects, verifying equipment against specifications, recording results, and maintaining logs and job records.

Qualifications

• Two-year college or technical school or equivalent required.
• Two to four years related experience with products and applications preferred.
• Ability to acquire basic product knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Test faulty equipment to diagnose malfunctions using test equipment and software.
• Demonstrate proper use of equipment and analyze problems to diagnose malfunctions.
• Inspect components for defects such as loose connections and frayed wires.
• Verify customer equipment for compliance with product specifications and consult with customers/engineers to resolve issues.
• Examine work orders and communicate with operators to detect problems and assess human or mechanical errors.
• Maintain and check job tickets and records of materials used and items repaired.
• Maintain equipment logs of performance problems, repairs, calibrations and tests.
• Study blueprints, schematics and manuals to determine issues.
• Adjust, calibrate, align and modify circuitry and components and record effects.
• Check functioning of newly installed equipment under operating conditions.
• Enter information into computer to copy programs or modify/store schematics.
