Job summary

Leonardo is offering an Industrial Placement Electronics Engineer role in the UK, providing hands-on experience across electronic design, FPGA, power, and high-speed interfaces. You will work under engineering leads, learn state-of-the-art tools, and contribute to projects spanning Thermal Imaging Cameras, Vehicle Camera systems, and Electronic Warfare products.

The placement runs for a year with on-site integration most weeks, a salary of £26,228, and a path towards a potential graduate

Qualifications

• Currently studying an electronics-biased degree with modules in digital design, analogue design and signal processing.
• Experience using PCB design and simulation tools is highly desirable.
• Commitment to learning and developing professional engineering skills during the placement.

Responsibilities

• Assist design and development of electro-optical, communications and information system products.
• Support lifecycle activities from requirements capture to verification and product support.
• Interface with customers and liaise with Engineers from Mechanical, Software, Systems and Design Integrity teams.
• Contribute to design reviews, test planning and documentation to support qualification.
