Job summary

Leonardo S.p.A. in Luton is seeking an Industrial Placement Firmware Engineer to contribute to high-performance digital systems used in electronic warfare solutions.

You will gain hands-on experience on meaningful projects, work with multidisciplinary teams, and spend ~50% on a cohort-led project to develop leadership and stakeholder skills. The placement runs for a year with a salary of £26,228, on-site three days per week with hybrid flexibility, and may lead to a Graduate Development

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Electronic/Electrical/Computer Engineering or related STEM field.
• Interest in firmware, FPGA, and embedded systems.

Responsibilities

• Support FPGA firmware design for embedded and real-time systems.
• Assist firmware verification and simulation activities.
• Use industry-standard development tools and HDL languages.
• Support testing/validation to meet performance requirements.
• Collaborate with systems, software and hardware engineers to integrate firmware.
