Job summary

HUBER+SUHNER Polatis is seeking an experienced electronics engineer to work across the full lifecycle from concept to production support in Cambridge. You will apply strong analogue, digital, embedded, and power electronics fundamentals with a methodical, hands‑on approach to engineering challenges.

You will influence design quality, develop bespoke test solutions, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver world‑class products.

Qualifications

• HNC or higher in Electronic Engineering (or relevant discipline).
• 3+ years of engineering experience in product development or manufacturing.
• Strong schematic-reading ability and understanding of functional circuit blocks.
• Proven capability in diagnosing faults to component level and reporting (8D).
• Solid background in analogue, digital, power, and embedded electronics.
• Proficient with oscilloscope, multimeter, power supplies and test gear.
• Hands-on soldering, PCB rework, prototyping as needed.
• Understanding of PCB/PCBA manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Design Verification & Test Development: create, execute, and maintain verification plans for new designs.
• Develop test requirements to maximise PCB test coverage and validate against specs.
• Design, build, and document test equipment for verification and production use.
• Use scripting or automation tools to streamline testing and data analysis.
• Produce detailed technical reports with PASS/FAIL status.
• Deliver hardware and software‑based test solutions within budgets and timelines.
• Support introduction and verification of third‑party test equipment and fixtures.
• Root Cause Analysis & Production Support: fault‑find complex assemblies to component level.
• Lead structured root‑cause investigations for recurring production issues.
• Collaborate with production to identify issues and support cross‑discipline problem solving.
