Job summary

HUBER+SUHNER Polatis in the United Kingdom is seeking a Production Technician to join the Operations Team. You will perform assembly, inspection and test of micro-components in a clean room and contribute to manufacturing standards and documentation.

You will analyze data, support prototypes, calibrate equipment and maintain production logs, while ensuring safety, 5S and on-time delivery. The role requires attention to detail, practical skills and strong teamwork with engineers and management.

Qualifications

• Attention to detail and an awareness of Health & Safety practices are key to this role.

• Ability to demonstrate an understanding of processes and follow work instructions.

Responsibilities

• Testing products or subassemblies for function or quality
• Troubleshooting problems with equipment, devices or products
• Managing waste in accordance with policies and transport accordingly to waste collection points
• Building product sub-assemblies or final products
• Monitoring and adjusting production processes or equipment for quality and productivity
• Preparing and assembling materials
• Setting up and operating production equipment in accordance with manufacturing practices and standard work procedures
• Assist Engineers in developing, building and testing of prototypes, new products, processes or procedures
• Calibrating or adjusting equipment to ensure quality production using tools such as callipers, micrometres, gauges
• Inspecting finished goods for quality and adherence to specifications
• Maintaining inventory of materials
• Packaging finished goods
• Participating in planning and scheduling to meet delivery timelines
• Developing, preparing and creating production documents (e.g., SWIs, batch records, inventory reports)
• Providing production progress or changeover reports to supervisors
• Setting up and verifying safety equipment
• Adhering to Health and Safety and Environment policies
• Managing work area to 5S standards
• Installing new equipment
• Measuring and recording data
• Providing advice and training to peers
• Communicating with peers, Engineers, management and cross-functional departments.
