Job summary

Octagon Group is seeking an Electronics Engineer - Production Engineering in Cambridge (Waterbeach) to join a new NPI team. You will help transition products from R&D into scalable manufacturing, optimize PCB design for manufacturability, and support automated production testing and fault diagnosis.

You will collaborate with R&D and manufacturing to drive robust production readiness, apply DFM/DFT principles, and contribute to quality through ISO9001 awareness.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electronic Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience using Altium for PCB design and layout.
• Experience with PCB assembly, integration and electronics manufacturing.
• Understanding of DFM/ DFA / DFT principles (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Supporting the transition of products from prototype into volume manufacture.
• Working with R&D to improve PCB design for manufacturability and testability.
• Supporting PCB assembly, integration, and electronic fault finding.
• Developing and improving automated production test equipment and fixtures.
• Supporting NPI builds, root cause analysis, and production issue resolution (desirable).
