Job summary

Helsing is seeking an Electronics Engineer to join the Physical Products team in the UK. You will design and build electrical systems for Helsing's platforms, from component selection and electrical architecture to PCB design and hands‑on prototype bring‑up.

You will define UAV electrical architectures, select components, and ensure robust data distribution with CAN, Ethernet, and RS422/485 while aligning with mechanical, software, and avionics boundaries.

Qualifications

• Have designed and integrated electrical and electronic systems in a professional engineering context, ideally within aerospace or a similarly demanding domain.
• Interpret complex third‑party datasheets and technical documentation to translate electrical characteristics into design decisions.
• Experience designing cable harnesses and defining communication interfaces; RF or radio systems knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and validate bespoke PCBs from schematic through bring‑up, including power, digital, and mixed‑signal electronics.
• Define electrical architecture of UAV platforms with wiring diagrams and power distribution.
• Select components across sensors, actuators, controllers, and power systems, balancing performance and cost.
• Integrate interfaces such as CAN Bus, Ethernet, RS422/485; support RF/radio systems.
• Create validation tests and contribute to reliability analyses; produce wiring diagrams, schematics, PCB layouts, and BOM.
