Job summary

STEMCELL Technologies Inc. in the United Kingdom is seeking an Electronics Engineer to join our UK Instrumentation team. You will sustain the cell sorting platform and contribute to next‑generation instrumentation throughout its lifecycle.

You will design, simulate and test analogue/digital electronics, integrate interfaces (I2C, SPI, Ethernet, USB), and work with embedded C/C++ or VHDL/Verilog. Ensure EMC/IEC compliance and collaborate across engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering or related field with 2–6 years of relevant experience.
• Experience designing, simulating, and troubleshooting analogue/digital electronics.
• Experience with power supplies, ADCs, motor/fan controllers, sensors, and interfaces (I2C, SPI, Ethernet, USB).
• Experience with FPGA firmware design (VHDL/Verilog) is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support electronics-related quality investigations through root-cause analysis and design changes.
• Own sustaining engineering activities including obsolescence management, supplier support, and cost reductions.
• Contribute to new product design, development and transfer to manufacture, including prototype builds and design verification.
• Design, simulate and test analogue and digital electronics, including low-noise front-ends, ADCs, FPGAs, photodetectors, and embedded processors.
• Integrate board-level communication interfaces (I2C, SPI, Ethernet, USB, NFC) and collaborate with software teams for board bring-up.
• Develop schematics and multi-layer PCB layouts in Altium Designer with strong signal integrity and EMC considerations.
• Ensure designs meet safety, EMC, and IEC 61010/61326 and EN 301 489 standards.
