Job summary

Polytec Personnel Ltd is seeking a Trainee Electronics Assembler near Cambridge (CB24). The role runs 6:30am–2:30pm, Monday to Friday, with overtime available. Salary is £25,000 per year, rising to £26,000 after successful probation.

You will perform PCB and electro-mechanical assembly and support production activities. Ideal candidates have practical skills with hand tools, the ability to read assembly drawings, attention to detail and a team-first attitude.

Qualifications

• Good practical skills and confident using hand tools.
• Hand soldering experience desirable (training provided).
• Able to follow assembly drawings and procedures (training provided).
• Good communication skills and a strong team player.
• Able to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Basic PC skills (training provided).
• Reliable, flexible and committed to company policies.

Responsibilities

• Carry out conventional PCB and electro-mechanical assembly.
• Operate automated test equipment and systems.
• Follow manufacturing instructions and procedures.
• Support the Production Manager and raise any issues promptly.
• Handle materials and assist with picking and packing.
• Carry out occasional heavy lifting as required.
