Job summary

Polytec Personnel Ltd in Cambridge (CB24 area) is seeking an Electronics Production Operator to join the production team. You will assemble, test and pack industrial controllers and other electronic products, and fault find or repair where required.

You will work to high quality standards, alongside the Production Manager, with a focus on safe, efficient manufacture and ongoing continuous improvement. Training will be provided where needed.

Qualifications

• Previous experience using hand assembly tools.
• Strong focus on quality and accuracy.
• Knowledge of Kaizen and continuous improvement processes.
• Understanding of ISO 9001 requirements.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out PCB assembly and electronic assembly activities.
• Undertake electro-mechanical assembly per manufacturing requirements.
• Operate automated testing equipment and systems.
• Ensure all work meets quality standards and workmanship remains high.
• Follow manufacturing instructions, procedures and processes for electronic products.
• Support Production Manager for smooth department operation.
• Identify and report production, quality or operational issues promptly.
• Handle materials and components safely and efficiently.
• Assist with picking and packing of finished goods.
• Provide Goods In support when required.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Undertake occasional heavy lifting and manual handling as required.

Polytec are looking for an Electronics Production Operator to join our client based a few miles north of Cambridge. You will be responsible for the assembly, testing and packing of industrial controllers and other electronic products. The role will also involve fault finding and carrying out repairs where required.

The successful candidate will work as part of the production team, ensuring products are manufactured efficiently, safely and to the required quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Carry out conventional PCB assembly and electronic assembly activities
• Undertake electro-mechanical assembly in accordance with manufacturing requirements
• Operate automated testing equipment and systems
• Ensure all work meets the required quality standards and that workmanship is consistently maintained to a high standard
• Follow all relevant manufacturing instructions, procedures and processes for electronic products
• Work closely with the Production Manager to support the smooth and efficient running of the department
• Identify and report any production, quality or operational issues promptly
• Handle materials and components safely and efficiently
• Assist with the picking and packing of finished goods
• Provide support with Goods In activities when required
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the production department
• Undertake occasional heavy lifting and manual handling duties as required. This is an essential requirement of the role

Requirements

• Previous experience using hand assembly tools
• A strong focus on quality and accuracy
• Knowledge or understanding of Kaizen and continuous improvement processes
• An understanding of quality processes and ISO 9001 requirements
• Basic computer skills

Desirable

• Good hand soldering skills
• Experience reading and following assembly drawings and technical instructions

Training will be provided for suitable candidates where required, including soldering, assembly procedures and company-specific processes.
