Job summary

Hudson Shribman is seeking an electrically biased Maintenance Engineer (electromechanical) for a permanent role in the South East. The position is 60% electrical and 40% mechanical, supporting large-scale industrial machinery used in defence and offshore energy sectors.

The role reports to the Engineering Manager and involves both planned preventive and reactive maintenance to maximise plant reliability and OEE.

Qualifications

Completed an engineering apprenticeship or equivalent industrial training.
Recognised engineering qualification (City & Guilds, BTEC or similar).
Strong electrical maintenance experience within manufacturing or heavy industry.
Proven experience maintaining AC and DC motors on large industrial machinery.

Responsibilities

Provide first-line electrical maintenance and repair support for production machinery.
Maintain, fault-find and repair AC/DC motors and associated industrial control systems.
Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and respond to breakdowns.
Support mechanical maintenance activities where required (approx. 40%).
Assist with continuous improvement and equipment upgrade projects.
Work closely with production teams to maximise equipment uptime.
Maintain accurate maintenance records and ensure compliance with safety standards.
Identify potential reliability issues and implement preventative solutions.
