Job summary

Hudson Shribman is seeking an Electromechanical Installation & Commissioning Engineer for a permanent role in Cambridgeshire. The position covers installation, commissioning and servicing of specialist machinery across the UK and overseas, with a strong emphasis on diagnosing faults and providing technical support to customers.

The role requires hands-on electrical and mechanical skills, a practical engineering background, and a flexible approach to travel.

Qualifications

• Electrical and mechanical engineering knowledge, ideally across both disciplines.
• Experience fault-finding, maintenance and repair of industrial machinery.
• Hands-on, methodical approach to diagnosing technical problems.
• Strong communication and customer service skills for on-site work.
• Willingness to travel within the UK and overseas.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission and service specialist equipment at customer sites across the UK and overseas.
• Diagnose faults and carry out mechanical and electrical breakdown repairs.
• Undertake planned servicing, maintenance and fault-finding activities to maximise equipment reliability and minimise downtime.
• Provide technical support to customers, maintaining a professional and confident approach at all times.
• Work collaboratively with customers, production personnel and colleagues to resolve technical issues efficiently.
• Carry out repair, refurbishment and preparation of equipment for resale or customer requirements at the company premises.
• Support continuous improvement and value engineering initiatives to improve equipment performance and cost-effectiveness.
• Ensure the correct and safe use of tools, machinery and equipment during workshop and site-based activities.
• Maintain high standards of workmanship, quality, hygiene, discipline and health and safety.
• Complete duties in accordance with company policies, procedures and quality standards.
