Job summary

Hudson Shribman is seeking an electromechanical Installation & Commissioning Engineer to install, commission and service specialist machinery across the UK and overseas. The role requires a practical engineering background, strong fault-finding skills and a customer-focused approach, with PLC/HMI knowledge being advantageous.

The successful candidate will work a 39-hour week (Mon-Fri) with potential overtime for installation work.

Qualifications

• Practical engineering background across electrical and mechanical disciplines.
• Experience fault-finding, maintenance and repair of industrial machinery.
• Customer-facing role with strong communication and problem-solving.
• Willingness to travel within the UK and overseas.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission and service specialist equipment at customer sites across the UK and overseas.
• Diagnose faults and carry out mechanical and electrical breakdown repairs.
• Undertake planned servicing, maintenance and fault-finding activities to maximise equipment reliability and minimise downtime.
• Provide technical support to customers, maintaining a professional and confident approach at all times.
• Work collaboratively with customers, production personnel and colleagues to resolve technical issues efficiently.
• Carry out repair, refurbishment and preparation of equipment for resale or customer requirements at the company's premises.
• Support continuous improvement and value engineering initiatives to improve equipment performance and cost-effectiveness.
• Ensure the correct and safe use of tools, machinery and equipment during workshop and site-based activities.
• Maintain high standards of workmanship, quality, hygiene, discipline and health and safety.
• Complete duties in accordance with company policies, procedures and quality standards.
