Job summary

Saab UK is seeking an Electro-Mechanical Technician for our Repairs Team at Fareham. The role covers inspection, fault-finding, repair, refurbishment and rebuild of electro-mechanical assemblies and PCBs from service, with root cause analysis and testing.

You will gain deep knowledge of Saab Seaeye's ROV product range, working from component level to final sign-off, while contributing to 6S and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Inspect, diagnose, repair and re-build electro-mechanical assemblies, PCBs and components.
• Carry out fault-finding using drawings, schematics and test equipment.
• Soldering and electrical loomings to required quality standards.
• Work on complex electro-mechanical and hydraulic assemblies and assist with tests.
• Maintain repair records and support 6S and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, repair and re-build electro-mechanical assemblies, PCBs and components.
• Carry out structured fault-finding and root cause analysis using drawings, schematics and test equipment.
• Carry out soldering, electrical loomings and other assembly activities to required quality standards.
• Work on complex electro-mechanical and hydraulic assemblies and assist with pressure, leak and soak testing.
• Complete repair and refurbishment activities accurately and efficiently, meeting quality and delivery requirements.
• Identify recurring faults and improvements, feedback to Repairs Team Lead and departments.
• Quality checks on repaired items and verification of others' work.
• Maintain accurate repair records and company systems.
• Support 6S, lean working and cross-department collaboration.
• Use initiative to resolve technical challenges and support training.
