Job summary

Saab UKFareham is seeking an Electro-Mechanical Technician to inspect, fault-find, repair and refurbish electro-mechanical assemblies and PCBs returned from service. You will develop practical knowledge of Saab Seaeye’s ROV range, working from component level to final testing and sign-off.

The role involves soldering, assembly work and structured fault-finding with engineering drawings and test equipment. You will contribute to quality, delivery targets and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Experience in inspection, fault-finding and repair of electro-mechanical assemblies and PCBs.
• Ability to perform soldering and assembly tasks to high-quality standards.
• Ability to use engineering drawings, schematics and test equipment for fault finding.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, repair and rebuild electro-mechanical assemblies and PCBs.
• Perform structured fault-finding and root cause analysis using drawings and instructions.
• Carry out soldering and assembly tasks to required quality standards.
• Work on complex electro-mechanical and hydraulic assemblies and assist with testing.
• Complete repair and refurbishment activities accurately and efficiently, meeting quality and delivery targets.
• Identify recurring faults and improvement opportunities and feed back to team leads.
• Maintain repair records and ensure data is current and traceable.
• Support 6S, lean and continuous improvement activities.
