Job summary

Saab UK is seeking an Electro-Mechanical Technician to inspect, fault-find, repair and rebuild electro-mechanical assemblies and PCBs returned from service at Fareham. You will apply structured fault-finding and testing to understand real-world performance and support sign-off on final repairs.

You will develop knowledge of Saab Seaeye's product range, work across components from level to final testing, and contribute to 6S and lean practices within a collaborative Repairs Team.

Qualifications

• Experience in electro-mechanical assembly repair is preferred.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and work instructions.
• Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
• Willingness to participate in continuous improvement activities.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, repair and re-build electro-mechanical assemblies, PCBs and components.
• Carry out structured fault-finding and root cause analysis using drawings and test equipment.
• Carry out soldering, electrical loom ing and other assembly activities.
• Work on complex electro-mechanical and hydraulic assemblies and assist with pressure, leak and soak testing.
• Complete repair and refurbishment activities accurately and efficiently, meeting quality and delivery.
• Identify recurring faults and feedback to the team lead and relevant departments.
• Carry out quality checks on repaired items and support verification of others' work.
• Maintain repair records and relevant company systems to ensure information is current and traceable.
• Support 6S, lean working and continuous improvement activities.
• Use initiative and sound judgement to resolve technical challenges and train colleagues.
