Job summary

Quartzelec is seeking an Electro-Mechanical Fitter to join our rotating machinery team in Aberdeen. The role involves inspecting and disassembling rotating machines both LV & HV, carrying out inspections, overhauls and repairs of motors used in explosive atmospheres, and assessing wear on AC/DC motors.

You will hold an Electrical Engineering qualification (C&G or NVQ) and have experience in an electro-mechanical environment. Some site travel and offshore work may be required.

Qualifications

• Hold a qualification in Electrical Engineering (C&G or NVQ equivalent).
• Experience in electro-mechanical environments.
• Experience with rotating equipment and root-cause analyses.

Responsibilities

• Being able to inspect and disassemble rotating machines both LV & HV.
• Carry out inspections, overhauls & repairs of various motors used in explosive atmospheres.
• Accurately assess and observe damage and wear on AC/DC electric motors and other machines.
• Quality control and technical compliance in accordance with project requirements.
• Submission of daily and weekly paperwork accurately and on time.
• Be able to travel for short durations as required for site work and offshore scopes.

Job description

Due to an increase in workload, we are now seeking a Electro Mechanical Fitter to work in our rotating machinery business based in Aberdeen.

Key Responsibilities& Accountability

• Being able to inspect and disassemble rotating machines both LV & HV
• Carry out inspections, overhauls & repairs of various motors that have been used in explosive atmospheres
• Accuratley assess and observe damage and wear on AC/DC electric motors and other machines
• Quality control and technical compliance in accordance with project requirements
• Submission of daily and weekly paperwork accurately and on time
• Hold a qualification in Electrical Engineering either C&G or NVQ equivalent
• Previous experience within a Electro-Mechanical environment
• Experience of rotating equipment as well as route cause analyses and measuring
• Be able to travel for short durations as and when required for specific site work and offshore scopes
• Previous or current AEMT training course preferred but not essential
