Job summary

Quartzelec Limited in Rugby is seeking an experienced Electro-Mechanical Fitter with rotating machines experience to join our team. The role requires inspecting and disassembling rotating machines, reading drawings, testing, and reporting on condition.

You will travel UK and overseas for site work, operate to QA standards, and contribute to first-time fixes with high safety standards. A mechanical engineering qualification (C&G or NVQ) is required and a full driving licence is advantageous.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Inspect and disassemble rotating machines.
• Read and understand mechanical drawings and schematics.
• Produce job reports and inspection check sheets.
• Carry out repairs to a high standard with first-time fix focus.
• Submit daily and weekly paperwork accurately and on time.
• Ensure exceptional levels of customer care.
• Work independently and as part of a team.
• Maintain safety and QA standards on site and customer sites.

Job description

Salary: £41,000-£50,000 per annum depending on experience + uncapped overtime

Location: Based in Rugby but will be required to work & travel throughout the UK and overseas.

Quartzelec is a leading UK independent electrical engineering group delivering design, manufacturing, installation, maintenance, and service solutions to customers across a broad range of industrial and commercial sectors.

We are now looking to recruit an experienced Electro-Mechanical Fitter preferably with rotating machines experience to work at our Rugby site.

Key responsibilities:

Your main areas of responsibility will require: -

• Ability to inspect and disassemble rotating machines
• Ability to read and understand mechanical and schematic drawings
• Ability to produce job reports and inspection check sheets
• Undertake works to a high standard on a first-time fix basis where possible
• Submission of daily and weekly paperwork accurately and on time
• Ensure exceptional levels of customer care
• Work independently as well as part of a team
• Must be methodical and accurate and make notes and reports during the disassembly process
• Carry out basic electrical testing to establish machine condition
• Accurately assess and observe damage and wear on AC/DC electric motors and other machines

Qualifications & Experience

The succesful applicant will: -

• Hold a qualification in Mechanical Engineering either C&G or NVQ equivalent
• Have previous experience within a Electro-Mechanical environment
• Have knowledge of medium and large electrical rotating machines (High Voltage), AC & DC motors and generators
• Be able to travel for short durations as and when required for specific site work both in the UK and Overseas
• Use industry equipment correctly and safely during the repair process
• The ability to prepare all parts and assemble to the required standards and ready for test run
• Assemble machine to QA standards in a timely manner
• Have a good attitude to personal safety and site safety in-house and on customer sites
• Full driving licence would be an advantage
