Job summary

SWARCO UK & Ireland is seeking a Controller Production Assembler in Melsonby to join our manufacturing team, assembling, wiring and testing a range of traffic signal controllers, roadside cabinets and related equipment.

The role is hands-on, requiring an electrical/mechanical background, attention to detail, and familiarity with technical drawings, BOMs and quality standards. You will work across cells, maintain 5S, and support continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Experience in electrical, mechanical, electro-mechanical or manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and wire traffic signal controllers and roadside cabinets.
• Prepare cables, connectors and wiring looms.
• Carry out cabinet wiring and fit electrical components such as transformers.
• Assemble mechanical components, enclosures, prisms and trailers.
• Read and follow technical drawings, BOMs and kit lists.
• Conduct basic functional testing of finished products.
• Use hand and power tools safely.
• Support PCB assembly/repair and basic mechanical assembly activities.
• Prepare and fit sign faces and assemble MDU units.
• Maintain 5S standards and a clean, safe workspace.
• Identify quality issues and report non-conformances.
• Support continuous improvement and cross-cell manufacturing needs.
