Job summary

SWARCO UK & Ireland is seeking a Production Assembler for our Melsonby factory. This hands-on role involves assembling, wiring, testing and preparing a range of SWARCO products from technical drawings to ensure safety and quality.

You will read BOMs, use hand and power tools, and participate in 5S and continuous improvement. The position offers a competitive salary, 25 days holiday, pension contributions, life assurance and career development opportunities within the Intelligent Transport

Qualifications

• Experience in electrical, mechanical, electro‑mechanical or manufacturing environments.
• Relevant training or qualification.
• Ability to read and follow technical drawings and BOMs.
• Attention to detail and a methodical approach.

Responsibilities

• Assemble electrical, electronic and mechanical products and equipment
• Prepare cables, connectors and wiring looms
• Carry out cabinet wiring and fit components
• Assemble traffic signal controllers and enclosures
• Read technical drawings and BOMs
• Perform basic functional testing of products
• Use hand and power tools safely and effectively
• Support PCB assembly or repair and basic mechanical assembly
• Prepare and fit sign faces and assemble MDU units
• Carry out self‑quality checks and report issues
