Job summary

AMETEK, Inc. in the United Kingdom is seeking an Assembly Operator to build mechanical and electrical assemblies to drawings, SOPs and CMMs, and to inspect and test products for quality.

You will maintain tools and equipment, complete documentation, and support continuous improvement and 6S activities while ensuring safety and proper PPE. The role involves cross-training and potential training of colleagues to meet production targets.

Qualifications

• Able to read and understand drawings, CMMs and SOPs.
• Able to work from SOPs in tandem with drawings.
• Able to read, write and understand English.
• Knowledge of tools, e.g., circlip pliers, pliers, screwdrivers, tweezers, scrapers, Swiss files.
• Soldering skills on small components.
• Skills on the use of machines, lathes, drills, etc.
• Previous experience in a production environment, assembly of electro/mechanical products.
• Experience in assembling small components (e.g., model kits).
• Ability to work in a team.
• Methodical / logical approach.
• Good time management.
• Able to communicate at all levels.
• Team player.
• Self-motivated.
• Professional demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Assemble mechanical and electro/mechanical components to drawings and CMMs.
• Inspect and test products to ensure quality standards.
• Maintain and test equipment and tooling.
• Complete documentation accurately.
• Support continuous improvement and 6S activities.
• Train colleagues as needed and share knowledge.
• Provide information to customers, suppliers and visitors.
• Communicate effectively across levels within the group.
