Job summary

Morson Human Resources Limited in the United Kingdom is seeking an Operative (Electro-Mechanical Assembly) to build high-quality electrical and mechanical units on the shop floor, and operate automated test equipment in line with IPC-A-610 standards.

You will follow engineering drawings and work instructions, perform soldering, assemble wiring looms, maintain ESD discipline, and contribute to on-time delivery while keeping a clean, safe, and collaborative production area.

Qualifications

• Experience in electrical and mechanical assembly.
• Soldering experience.
• ESD awareness.
• Ability to follow work instructions and engineering documentation.
• Experience operating or working with automated test equipment.
• Background in a similar manufacturing or production role (2-3 years' experience).
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Responsibilities

• Build electrical and mechanical assemblies according to IPC-A-610 standards.
• Carry out soldering to required quality standards.
• Assemble wiring looms and components per engineering drawings.
• Operate automated test equipment on sub-assemblies and finished units.
• Perform self-inspection to verify quality requirements.
• Record and report defects or non-conformances.
• Pack finished products in line with customer requirements.
• Adhere to work instructions and production timescales.
• Aim to achieve output and quality targets.
• Maintain ESD and FOD awareness at all times.
• Keep the shop floor clean, safe and organized.
• Work collaboratively to meet deadlines and be flexible.
• Report issues to Team Leader or Line Manager.
• Train colleagues when requested.
• Maintain positive relationships across the production team.
