Job summary

OCS UK & Ireland is seeking a skilled electrical installer to work within our Renewable Energy team on commercial and industrial solar PV and battery storage projects. You will install, commission and maintain electrical systems, working with contractors and apprentices to ensure quality workmanship and safety standards.

Candidates should hold a Level 3 Electrical Installation qualification (or AM2), NVQ 2350 and 18th Edition, with site surveying, test and inspection capability, and a commitment

Qualifications

• Experience in installing and maintaining electrical systems (AC/DC).
• Ability to survey sites and draft electrical drawings/diagrams.
• Demonstrated competence in electrical testing and issuing installation certificates.

Responsibilities

• Undertake electrical installation duties on projects for OCS UK & Ireland.
• Install, maintain, modify and repair electrical systems (AC/DC).
• Demonstrate competence as a time-served electrician and work with contractors and apprentices.
• Produce reports and ensure compliance with BS7671 and IET CoP standards.

About The Role:

Working in our Technical Servicesdepartment aspartof our Renewable Energy team on commercial and industrial projectsin our continually expanding division.The primary focus will be medium to large scale solar PV and battery storage systemshoweverthe installation ofotherlow-carbontechnologies andopportunities to support other Commercial and Residential contractswill be available.

Key Responsibilities:

• Undertakeelectricalinstallation andduties on behalf of theOCS, includingworking alongside andmonitoring of contractors,electrician'smates and apprenticesand their workmanship, so that relevant standards are met.
• Installing,maintaining,modifyingand repairing electrical systemsboth AC and DC (Once approved on OCS Appointed person scheme)
• Demonstrate competence / experience as atime servedelectrician
• Work across a wide range of electrical installation types and materials
• Demonstrate competence of electrical testing and completion of electrical installation certificates (NIC/EIC). Includingappropriate collationof reports, software, correct application of testing equipment etc.
• Produce reports required by their Line Manager
• To ensure equipment and surrounding area conform to agreed company standards.
• Surveying sites where electrical systems are installed
• Drafting electricalas-installed drawingsand technical diagrams
• To evaluate performanceand carry out testing toensure the proper servicing and maintenance of equipment underour maintenancecontractsto the company is carried out.
• Working in a safe manner at all times,complying withcurrent Health & Safety legislationand OCS internal safe systems of work and Standard operating procedures.
• The successful candidate must provide a significant contribution to overall efficiency, effectiveness and contract profitability and must, therefore, play its part in the overall delivery oftheservice.
• The candidate will support with the implementation of an integrated approach for the delivery of all contracted services ensuring that all works are delivered safely on time, within budget and to the required quality standardsin line with BS7671 and the Required IET CoP's.

Hiring Criteria:

• Previousexperience working withinthe renewable industry would be idealbut not a necessity
• Full clean driving licence
• Able to carry out basic IT tasks on handheld devices.

Essential Qualifications:

• A craft qualification such as a recognised electrical apprenticeship such as or equivalent to City & Guilds 2350 NVQ
• Level 3 Electrical Installation EngineeringorAM2
• The current wiring regulations qualification such as or equal to City & Guilds 2381-18 Level 3 Award (18th Edition)Valid and in date Grade card/CSCSGoldCard or equivalent qualification.

Desirable Qualifications:

• An Inspection & Testing qualification such as or equal to City & Guilds 2391-52 Level 3 Award in Initial and Periodic Inspection and Testing of Electrical Installations
• EAL Level 3 Award in the Installation of Small Scale Solar Photovoltaic Systemsor
• EAL Level 3 Award in the Design, Installation and Commissioning of Electrical Energy Storage Systemsorequivalent NOS mapped MCS approved certification
