Job summary

Nottingham Community Housing Association is seeking an experienced electrical maintenance operative to deliver high-quality maintenance and repair services across its managed properties in Nottingham. The role emphasizes safety, accuracy in documentation, and timely response to customer needs.

You will coordinate with other trades, manage stock to prevent delays, and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations while maintaining detailed records and contributing to service improvements.

Qualifications

• C&G 2382-2394 (as applicable).
• C&G 2391 or equivalent.
• Extensive post-qualification experience in electrical trade, preferably in social housing.

Responsibilities

• Organise and carry out the design, installation, maintenance, testing and repair work for the Association’s managed properties, housing stock and external customers in accordance with targets and procedures.
• Manage stock/supplies to ensure works are not delayed.
• Complete and return documentation; update records related to testing electrical installations.
• Work efficiently to deliver value for money; identify efficiencies and gaps in service delivery.
• Coordinate services of other trades; work with colleagues, contractors and partners to ensure a seamless service.
• Ensure health and safety compliance; minimize risks at all times.
• Keep line manager informed of issues hindering delivery and contribute to team operations.
• Provide relief cover and participate in standby/call-out rota for emergencies.
• Understand performance standards and targets discussed at reviews.
