Job summary

Sunderland City Council is recruiting a Maintenance Operative Technical (Electrician) to join the Property Services and Repairs & Maintenance team in Sunderland. The role involves electrical installation, repair and maintenance across domestic, commercial and industrial buildings, ensuring safety and quality.

You will work with colleagues to meet deadlines and budgets. The post requires an 18th Edition BS7671 qualification, experience in a busy repairs environment, and a full UK driving licence.

Qualifications

18th Edition BS7671 electrical qualification is essential.
Experience in busy repairs and maintenance environments.
Hands-on experience with electrical repairs, maintenance and installation.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

Carry out electrical repairs, maintenance and installation across properties.
Diagnose and rectify electrical faults and maintenance issues.
Support the Repairs and Maintenance service as part of the team.
Work as part of a busy operational maintenance team.
Ensure compliance with electrical regulations, safety requirements and quality standards.
Complete work within agreed timescales and budgets.
