Job summary

Gateshead Council is seeking an Electrician to undertake electrical repairs, refurbishment and upgrades across a diverse housing portfolio. You will work solo or in teams, liaising with customers and subcontractors to provide a responsive service and maintain high safety standards.

The role requires working across a broad schedule within 8:00–20:00 hours, with some out-of-hours participation and cross-trade collaboration as needed. A valid NVQ 2 level qualification and CSCS card are expected.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 Electrical or equivalent qualification.
• Diploma in Electrical or relevant experience.
• CSCS card or willingness to achieve.
• Full driving license or access to mobility support.

Responsibilities

• Carry out electrical repairs, refurbishment and upgrades across the Council's housing portfolio.
• Work individually or as part of a team delivering high quality electrical work.
• Collaborate with other trades to support the one front door approach.
• Liaise with customers and subcontractors to provide a responsive service.
• Record labour and materials using electronic and paper systems.
• Adhere to health and safety requirements and CDM regulations.
