Job summary

CBRE GlobalWorkplace Solutions is seeking an Electrician to maintain electrical systems, ensure safety compliance, and support service partners on site in Wakefield. You will conduct risk reviews, issue permits, and drive corrective actions while coordinating with the Facilities Manager.

The role requires 18th Edition and City & Guilds qualifications, plus GMP awareness where applicable. You will communicate findings, meet KPI/SLA targets, and remain flexible to support out-of-hours work.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds level in electrical disciplines or equivalent is required.
• 18th Edition Qualification and IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent are preferred.
• GCSE Maths and English or recognised equivalent are required.
• Experience with fault finding, diagnostics and rectification in maintenance services.

Responsibilities

• Maintain electrical systems to meet safety standards and SLAs for planned and reactive work.
• Carry out risk reviews prior to works and ensure GMP standards where applicable.
• Provide supervision to service partners and communicate findings to the Line Manager.
• Issue work permits, review safety documentation, and ensure PPE is worn.
• Support within/outside normal hours and keep accurate logbooks and stock records.
• Interface with client staff at all levels and maintain professional conduct.

What You’ll Do

Ensuring all operational electrical systems adhere to electrical safety standards and regulations and all KPI's and SLA's are met for planned and reactive activities. Carry out risk review of works prior to commencement, ensuring all necessary GMP standards have been applied where applicable. To complete any other reasonably requested reactive works onsite when asked by Line Manager. Provide support and supervision to service partners. The postholder is required to communicate any findings and provide appropriate guidance and support to our service delivery.

• Accountable to the Facilities Manager.
• Responsible for providing electrical and maintenance support (planned, corrective and reactive) within all specified areas and interfaces, laboratory and associated areas. More specifically:
• Ensure all activities assigned are delivered in a professional manner.
• Proactively raise corrective maintenance work orders and complete within agreed SLA.
• Report any safety concerns through CBRE portals
• Issue work permits and review any related safety documentation
• Wear appropriate PPE
• Complete any e-learning and/or classroom courses relevant to role.
• Meet client expectations and always remain professional.
• Support any outside of normal working hours, when required.
• Report any delays and or obstructive findings to Line Manager for any Planned or Reactive works.
• Complete and store all relevant Logbook documentation.
• Monitor stock levels of any stored consumables.

What You’ll Need

• 18th Edition Qualification.
• Technically qualified to at least City & Guilds level in relevant electrical disciplines.
• Must have Electrical Technical experience and be able to hold suitable qualification to be authorised.
• IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent.
• GCSE (or 'O' Level equivalent) passes in Maths and English or recognised equivalent.
• Experienced in co-ordination and supervision of fault finding, diagnostics and rectification activities as part of a planned and reactive maintenance service.
• Experience with computer Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) building management systems (Concept or similar).
• Ability to interface with people including customer staff at all levels.
