Job summary

Serco is recruiting an Electrician Grade 1 at HMP Fosse Way in Leicester to maintain safe, compliant electrical systems within a secure environment. This permanent full-time role offers a good salary (£38,971 per annum) and a comprehensive benefits package.

You will fault-find, perform planned preventive maintenance, install and commission new electrical plant, read technical drawings, and keep accurate records.

Qualifications

• Recognised electrical qualification (City and Guilds)
• Completed electrical apprenticeship
• Qualified to BS7671 (IEE regulations)
• At least five years’ post-apprenticeship experience
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a secure environment

Responsibilities

As an Electrician Grade 1 in our Justice and Immigration Facilities Management team, you’ll play a vital role in maintaining safe, compliant, and fully operational electrical systems within a secure environment. You’ll Be Entrusted To

What you’ll do as an Electrician Grade 1

• Carry out fault finding and defect rectification on electrical plant and equipment

• To be a team member of the Facilities “Out of hours” call out roster.

Vetting and checks

An Enhanced Level 1 check is required for this role. This includes spent and unspent convictions, cautions, and any relevant information held by local police, in accordance with the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and safeguarding requirements. You will also complete an Occupational Health Questionnaire to allow us to provide any support needed for you to succeed in the role.
