Job summary

M&E Contrax Ltd is seeking an experienced Electrician to join our growing team, working across Exeter, Devon and the surrounding areas. This is a predominantly site-based role, carrying out a varied range of commercial and industrial electrical installations, testing, commissioning, maintenance and fault finding.

We are particularly interested in candidates with Solar PV, battery storage or other renewable technologies experience, though not essential.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation or equivalent.
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations – BS 7671.
• AM2 or equivalent recognised electrical qualification.
• Experience working on commercial electrical installations.
• Good fault-finding ability.
• Strong understanding of electrical installation standards.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• Willingness to work away from home occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Carry out commercial and industrial electrical installations.
• Install containment, cabling, distribution equipment and electrical accessories.
• Inspection, testing and commissioning of electrical installations.
• Fault finding and electrical maintenance.
• Complete electrical certification and associated paperwork where required.
• Work in accordance with BS 7671 and current electrical regulations.
• Carry out installations to a high standard of workmanship.
• Work safely and in accordance with company health & safety procedures.
• Work independently and as part of a wider project team.
• Installation of Solar PV, battery storage and EV charging systems, where suitably experienced or qualified.
• Liaise professionally with site managers, clients and other trades.

M&E Contrax Ltd is looking for an experienced and motivated Electrician to join our growing team, working across Exeter, Devon and the surrounding areas.

About the role

This is a predominantly site-based role, carrying out a varied range of commercial and industrial electrical installations, testing, commissioning, maintenance and fault finding.

We are particularly interested in candidates who have experience in Solar PV, battery storage or other renewable technologies, although this is not essential.

The majority of work will be based across the South West, although working away from home may occasionally be required depending on project requirements.

Key responsibilities

Carry out commercial and industrial electrical installations

Install containment, cabling, distribution equipment and electrical accessories

Inspection, testing and commissioning of electrical installations

Fault finding and electrical maintenance

Complete electrical certification and associated paperwork where required

Work in accordance with BS 7671 and current electrical regulations

Carry out installations to a high standard of workmanship

City & Guilds 2391 Inspection & Testing, or equivalent

Battery storage systems

ECS Gold Card

IPAF and/or PASMA
