Job summary

First Base is recruiting an Electrician in Cheltenham to install and commission electrical systems for domestic solar PV and battery storage projects. You will connect EV home charging points and work from detailed drawings and specs, ensuring safe, compliant installations.

Applicants should be fully qualified, with strong domestic wiring experience, and a solid track record in testing and fault-finding. A full UK driving licence is required.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified Electrician with relevant electrical qualifications.
• Strong domestic electrical installation experience.
• Experience with testing, inspection and fault-finding.
• Good understanding of BS 7671 and current electrical regulations.
• Experience with solar PV, battery storage or EV chargers would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Carry out electrical installations as part of domestic solar PV and battery storage projects.
• Install and connect EV home charging systems.
• Complete electrical wiring, connections, consumer unit works and associated equipment.
• Carry out testing, inspection, commissioning and fault-finding.
• Ensure installations are completed safely, efficiently and to current electrical standards.
• Work from electrical drawings, installation plans and specifications.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical faults and carry out remedial works where required.
• Complete installation paperwork, testing documentation and certification accurately.
• Liaise professionally with customers and provide a high standard of customer service.
• Work closely with the wider installation team to deliver high-quality renewable energy systems.
• Maintain company Health & Safety standards and ensure all work complies with relevant regulations.

Key Responsibilities of an Electrician
