Job summary

First Base Employment seeks an Electrician to join our team in Cheltenham. The role involves carrying out electrical installations for domestic solar PV and battery storage, installing EV home charging systems, wiring, testing and fault-finding, and ensuring compliance with BS 7671 and safety standards.

You will work from plans and liaise with customers, completing documentation accurately, and supporting the installation team on renewables projects.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified Electrician with relevant electrical qualifications.
• Strong domestic electrical installation experience and attention to detail.
• Experience with testing, inspection and fault-finding is essential.
• Good understanding of BS 7671 and current electrical regulations.

Responsibilities

• Carry out electrical installations as part of domestic solar PV and battery storage projects.
• Install and connect EV home charging systems.
• Complete electrical wiring, connections, consumer unit works and related equipment.
• Perform testing, inspection, commissioning and fault-finding work.
• Ensure installations meet safety standards and current regulations.

Hours: 40 hours per week
Salary: £45,000 per annum
Contract Type: Permanent

Key Responsibilities of an Electrician

• Carry out electrical installations as part of domestic solar PV and battery storage projects.
• Install and connect EV home charging systems.
• Complete electrical wiring, connections, consumer unit works and associated equipment.
• Carry out testing, inspection, commissioning and fault-finding.
• Ensure installations are completed safely, efficiently and to current electrical standards.
• Work from electrical drawings, installation plans and specifications.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical faults and carry out remedial works where required.
• Complete installation paperwork, testing documentation and certification accurately.
• Liaise professionally with customers and provide a high standard of customer service.
• Work closely with the wider installation team to deliver high-quality renewable energy systems.
• Maintain company Health & Safety standards and ensure all work complies with relevant regulations.

Key Skills of an Electrician
