Job summary

KPJ Group in the High Peak region is hiring an Electrician for a globally recognised manufacturer. You’ll read electrical schematics, wire and test control panels, and assemble electromechanical components to exact drawings.

The role offers a 4-day workweek with day shifts (7:30am–4:30pm Mon-Thu) and overtime at enhanced rates, plus pension, 25 days holiday, healthcare and events. Time served to NVQ3 with 18th Edition desirable; heavy manufacturing experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Time served to NVQ3 or equivalent in Electrical Engineering.
• Experience wiring heavy manufacturing electrical panels.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Control panel assembly, wiring and testing electrical control panels.
• Assemble and connect electromechanical components.
• Read and work from electrical schematics and drawings.
• Carry out electrical fault finding and ensure drawings/tolerances are met.
• Ensure calibration status of equipment is within date.

What will you be doing as an Electrician?

• Control panel assembly - building, wiring and testing electrical control panels
• Assembling and connecting electromechanical components
• Reading and working from electrical schematics and mechanical drawings
• Carrying out electrical fault finding where requiredEnsuring all work conforms to relevant drawing specifications and tolerances
• Checking that calibrated equipment is in good condition and within calibration date

What do you need?

• Time served to NVQ3 or equivalent in Electrical Engineering
• 18th Edition wiring regulations (desirable)
• Experience working as an electrician within heavy manufacturing
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and electrical schematics
• Experience with 3 phase electrical systems and panel wiring
• Experience with frequency inverters and PLCs
