Job summary

Forward Assist Recruitment Ltd currently seeks an experienced Electrical Tutor/Electrician in the Horwich area. The role involves planning and delivering theory and practical sessions, aligning with BS 7671 and safe isolation, and preparing apprentices for the Level 3 Electrotechnical Qualification and AM2S.

You will regularly review apprentice progress with employers, record evidence, and ensure off-the-job training is tracked while embedding English and maths, safeguarding, and British values

Qualifications

• Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Electrotechnical Services or equivalent time-served qualification.
• AM2/AM2S assessment pass required.
• BS 7671 Wiring Regulations – current edition (18th Edition, incl. latest amendment).
• Inspection and Testing qualification (e.g. C&G 2391 or 2394/2395).
• ECS Gold Card (Installation or Maintenance Electrician) or eligibility for one.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver theory and practical sessions covering electrical standards and fault-finding.
• Prepare apprentices for Level 3 Electrotechnical Qualification and AM2S.
• Conduct progress reviews with apprentices and employers with clear targets.
• Assess and record evidence, tracking off-the-job training and progress.
• Embed English, maths, safeguarding, Prevent and British values in delivery.
• Support wellbeing and readiness for industry.

Electrical Tutor/ Electrician

Salary: £31,930–£35,020 per year

Job Description

Our client is an Independent Training Provider holding a direct DfE contract to deliver engineering apprenticeships. They are expanding their electrical provision and are looking for an experienced, qualified electrician who wants to pass on their trade to the next generation.

You will:

• Plan and deliver engaging theory and practical sessions covering BS 7671, safe isolation, installation methods, inspection, testing, commissioning and fault-finding
• Prepare apprentices for the mandatory Level 3 Electrotechnical Qualification and the AM2S
• Carry out regular progress reviews with apprentices and employers, setting clear, stretching targets
• Assess and record evidence accurately, ensuring off-the-job training and progress are tracked
• Embed English, maths, safeguarding, Prevent and British values into your delivery
• Support apprentices’ wellbeing, behaviours and readiness for industry

Essential Skills

• Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Electrotechnical Services (or equivalent time-served qualification)
• AM2 / AM2S assessment pass
• BS 7671 Wiring Regulations – current edition (18th Edition, incl. latest amendment)
• Inspection and Testing qualification (e.g. C&G 2391 or 2394/2395)
• ECS Gold Card (Installation or Maintenance Electrician) or eligibility for one
• Substantial, recent industry experience as an installation and/or maintenance electrician, with up-to-date knowledge of current practice and technologies (e.g. EV charging, solar PV, energy storage)

Desirable Skills

• Level 3 Award in Education and Training (or higher), or willingness to achieve within 6 months
• Assessor qualification – Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement (CAVA), or A1/D32/D33 equivalent, or willingness to achieve
• Level 2 English and maths (or equivalent)
