Job summary

JTL is seeking an Electrical Training Officer to support apprentices and learners across the London & South East region. The role involves regular workplace visits, progress reviews and coaching to ensure apprentices meet industry standards.

You will manage a caseload of learners, assess competencies and guide preparation for gateway, end-point assessment and AM2. A fully qualified electrician with strong communication and IT skills is ideal.

Qualifications

• Recognised electrical apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 in Electrotechnical Installation or equivalent qualification.
• ECS Card (or equivalent).
• Strong technical knowledge and industry experience as a qualified electrician.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Good organisational skills and the ability to manage a varied workload.
• Confidence using IT systems and digital technologies.
• Commitment to maintaining your professional and technical knowledge.
• Desirable: IET Wiring Regulations qualification (BS 7671 18th Edition) or Level 3 TAQA/assessor qualifications.
• Desirable: Level 3 Award in Education and Training or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of apprentices and learners, supporting progress and successful completion.
• Conduct regular workplace visits and progress reviews with apprentices and employers.
• Assess apprentice knowledge, skills and behaviours and provide constructive feedback.
• Support learners and employers to understand gateway, end-point assessment and AM2 requirements.
• Monitor attendance, engagement and off-the-job training progress.
