Job summary

JTL is seeking an Electrical Training Officer to support apprentices regionally from home, with travel across South Yorkshire. You will manage a caseload, conduct visits, assess progress, and guide learners to complete their programmes successfully.

We welcome experienced electricians who want to develop others, including via regular coaching, feedback and monitoring of attendance, with a focus on meeting gateway and end-point assessment requirements.

Qualifications

• Recognised electrical apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 in Electrotechnical Installation.
• ECS Card (or equivalent).
• Strong technical knowledge and industry experience as a qualified electrician.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Good organisational skills and ability to manage a varied workload.
• Confidence using IT systems and digital technologies.
• Commitment to maintaining your professional and technical knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of apprentices and learners, supporting progress and successful completion.
• Conduct regular workplace visits and progress reviews with employers and learners.
• Assess apprentice knowledge, skills and behaviours and provide constructive feedback.
• Support learners and employers to understand gateway, end-point assessment and AM2 requirements.
• Monitor attendance, engagement and off-the-job training to ensure progress.
• Identify learners at risk and implement timely interventions.
• Promote personal development and employability skills through JTL’s curriculum.
• Safeguarding and inclusion: promote health, safety and equality in delivery.
• Maintain knowledge of regulations and funding policy; advise employers as needed.
• Represent JTL professionally with employers, apprentices and stakeholders.
