Job summary

Major Energy Onshore is seeking an Electrical Test Technician near Nottingham to assist the Test Engineer with routine testing of medium voltage distribution transformers and 11kV switchgear, ensuring compliance with design and performance standards.

The role welcomes recent Electrical Engineering graduates and experienced technicians, offering development opportunities and on-the-job training while you contribute to accurate test records, oil tests, and calibrated equipment checks.

Qualifications

• Recognised Electrical/Electronic qualification to a minimum level of HND.
• IT literacy and diligence in recording test results.
• Strong health and safety practices for high-voltage testing.

Responsibilities

• Assisting in the preparation for and completion of routine testing of distribution transformers and 11kV electrical switchgear.
• Producing traceable and accurate test records.
• Conducting electrical testing of oil samples.
• Ensuring test equipment is calibrated and maintained.
• Co-ordinating movement of product throughout the production facility.
• Undertaking routine inspection of incoming equipment and final inspection of outgoing assembled product.
