Job summary

Major Energy Onshore is seeking a qualified Electrical Technician to service and maintain Power Transmission and Distribution assets across customer sites in the UK. The role is mainly site-based with some office visits, delivering after-sales support, maintenance contracts and customer services.

You will assemble equipment on site, perform fault finding and repairs on HV/LV components, and complete safety and test procedures.

Qualifications

• Time-served or qualified to HNC/HND level in Electrical Engineering.
• Experience working on HV or LV power equipment (transformers, switchgear, VSDs).
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to customer sites.

Responsibilities

• Assemble power transmission equipment on site and perform fault finding and after-sales support.
• Conduct maintenance on supplied equipment and customers' HV/LV networks.
• Complete site tests and produce reports, ensuring safety and compliance.

Job description

We are looking for a qualified Electrical Technician to work on a variety of sites to deliver after-sales, maintenance contracts and customer services on Power Transmission and Distribution equipment. The role primarily is visiting customer sites and conducting the repair, maintenance and upgrade of customer private networks and their assets. The role will be mainly site based with regular office visits.

The role and responsibilities include:

• Assembling power transmission and distribution equipment and associated items (LV/HV switch, Ring Main Units etc) on site installations. You will also carry out fault finding and resolving after care services and warranty issues with the equipment, complete maintenance activity for both supplied equipment and customers own HV & LV networks and assets
• You will also carry out basic site testing requirements of equipment, ensure adherence to standards and ensure safe operation of all devices and provide breakdown support to Customers as required
• You will also work and collaborate alongside other contractors whilst on site, complete site reports for work conducted, ensuring method and risk assessments are completed and followed as necessary

The ideal candidate will

The ideal candidate will either be a time-served electrical technician or be HNC/ HND or similar qualified in Electrical Engineering, be able to work on their own initiative and as part of a small busy team. You will need experience of working on HV or LV Power equipment (transformers, switchgear, variable speed drives etc)

You must have a full UK Driving Licence and be willing to work away on customer sites
