Job summary

Instrument Transformers Limited in the United Kingdom is seeking an experienced Electrical Test Engineer / Supervisor to lead electrical testing of industrial products in a manufacturing setting. The role combines hands-on testing with team leadership and quality control.

The candidate will supervise technicians, maintain records, and drive continuous improvement while ensuring safety, compliance, and timely product delivery.

Qualifications

• Formal engineering qualification (HNC/HND/Degree) or equivalent.
• High numeracy skills and ability to interpret technical data.
• Experience supervising or leading a small team.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Knowledge of electrical testing procedures and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Carry out electrical testing and inspection of industrial products in line with company procedures and relevant standards.
• Supervise and support test technicians, ensuring safe and efficient workflow.
• Maintain accurate test records, reports, and documentation.
• Identify faults, perform root-cause analysis, and collaborate with engineering teams to resolve issues.
• Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and environmental requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement within the testing area.
• Liaise with production, engineering, and quality departments to support timely product delivery.
• Support engineering with customer FAT activities
• Strong background in electrical testing of industrial or manufacturing products.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
• Good understanding of testing equipment and methods.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Experience in a supervisory or team-leader role.
• Knowledge of safety standards and compliance requirements.
