Job summary

iST Power Limited in Leicester is seeking an Electrical Test Engineer to join our production team. You will perform routine and type testing on transformers, reactors and wound components used in critical infrastructure projects, with exposure to high-voltage testing and bespoke products.

The role is factory-based at our Leicester site, with occasional travel to our Manchester facility for project support and FAT attendance.

Qualifications

• Reading electrical drawings and test procedures.
• Practical understanding of AC electrical theory.
• Experience using electrical test instruments safely.
• Attention to detail and test record accuracy.
• Ability to work in a high voltage test area.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine electrical testing on transformers, reactors and wound components.
• Carry out voltage ratio, vector group, winding resistance and insulation resistance tests.
• Conduct high-voltage tests including copper loss, iron loss and overload tests.
• Support FAT documentation and customer test certificates.
• Assist design/engineering teams with testing of new or bespoke products.
• Ensure testing is safe and compliant with ISO 9001/BS EN/IEC standards.
• Maintain test records and liaise with production, project and quality teams.
