Job summary

CarnaudMetalbox Engineering (CMbE) in Wortley, Leeds, seeks an experienced Electrical Test Engineer to join the Assembly team. You will program, build, and test electrical sub-assemblies and complete machines to ensure top performance.

The role requires strong fault-finding, reading technical drawings, and hands-on expertise with PLCs, HMIs, drives and remote I/O. You will collaborate with engineering and customers to deliver compliant, tested equipment on time.

Qualifications

• Apprentice-trained Electrical Engineer or NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering with formal HNC preferential.
• Experience reading electrical drawings and schematics.
• Strong fault-finding, wiring, and testing skills.
• Experience programming PLCs, HMIs, drives and remote I/O.

Responsibilities

• Program, build and test electrical sub-assemblies and complete machines.
• Verify schematic drawings and provide feedback to engineering teams.
• Configure PLCs, HMIs, drives and remote I/O units; support continuous improvement.
• Deliver machines that are fully tested, compliant and ready for customer approval.
