Job summary

CarnaudMetalbox Engineering (CMbE) is seeking an Electrical Test Engineer to join our Wortley, Leeds site. You will program, build and test electrical sub-assemblies and complete machines, ensuring they meet high standards and customer acceptance.

You will configure PLCs, HMIs, drives, and remote I/O, with occasional minor software adjustments. Strong problem-solving and communication skills are essential in a collaborative multi-functional team.

Qualifications

• Apprentice-trained Electrical Engineer or NVQ 3 with HNC in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
• Experience in programming, building and testing electrical sub-assemblies and complete machines.
• Ability to read technical drawings and fault-find to high standards.
• Excellent communication and collaborative skills.

Responsibilities

• Program, build and test electrical sub-assemblies and complete machines.
• Configure PLCs, HMIs, drives and remote I/O units; occasional minor software adjustments.
• Carry out detailed testing, wiring modifications and fault-finding as required.
• Ensure equipment operates to highest standards and deliver fully tested, compliant machines for customer approval.
