Job summary

phs Compliance is seeking an Electrical Test & Inspection Engineer to join the Colchester area team. You will perform electrical testing and inspection tasks, including EICRs, emergency lighting, fire alarms, mains analysis, and thermal imaging; with a focus on timely reporting and compliant documentation.

The role requires proven electrical testing experience and qualifications such as NVQ/City & Guilds, 18th Edition, 2391/2394/2395, and AM2, plus a full UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds 2360/2330 Part 1 & 2 is required.
• City & Guilds 18th Edition is required.
• City & Guilds 2391/2394/2395 is required.
• AM2 qualification is preferred.
• Experience in electrical testing environments and with installation or project work is expected.
• Strong knowledge of UK health and safety regulations and good IT literacy.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out inspection and testing of electrical installations (EICRs).
• Completing Emergency Lighting Testing, Fire Alarm Inspections, Mains Analysis and Thermal Imaging.
• Undertaking minor remedial repairs as required.
• Completing reports and certification using cloud-based software.
• Ensuring all documentation is submitted accurately and on time.

The Electrical Test & Inspection Engineer role at phs Compliance will involve:

• Carrying out inspection and testing of electrical installations (EICRs)
• Completing Emergency Lighting Testing, Fire Alarm Inspections, Mains Analysis and Thermal Imaging

The ideal candidate for an Electrical Test & Inspection Engineer at phs Compliance will have:

• AM2 qualification
• Experience working in an electrical testing environment
• Experience with electrical installation or project work

• IPAF 3a & 3b licence
• Full UK Driving Licence (maximum 6 points)

Desirable:

• Flexibility to work 40 hours per week including evening/twilight shifts
• Willingness to travel and stay away when required
